Apr 15, 2012 10:22 AM

Ever wondered how to draw a beautiful red rose? Well today is your lucky day! In this how to, I will show you how to draw a decent looking rose in a series of illustrated steps. Keep on reading to learn more!

Tips

  • Be sure to have a pencil and paper handy before you begin.
  • Set aside at least 15 minutes to complete this.

Start drawing your rose petals. Each petal does not have to look exactly the same. The diversity of the rose is what makes it such a fascinating flower!

As you can see, I have already got a start on my second petal.

The petals should slowly become intertwined with one another.

Draw your petals in a way that they are somewhat layered. Petals have body and are not straight as an arrow. Think of how a rose bud is opening up. Each petal pops out slowly.

I hope this example will give you a good idea of how your rose should be looking like so far.

The rose is complete! Time to move on to move on to the leaves.

The leaves should look somewhat simple.

Lastly, draw in your stem! And voila! You have a beautiful rose!
